How we make it possible

...

The black soldier fly (BSF), Hermetia illucens plays a key role in composting organic waste due to its remarkable efficiency in converting waste into nutrient-rich byproducts.

Its life cycle is divided into four distinct stages, each serving a purpose in composting systems.

Egg Stage

Larvae Stage

Pupae Stage

Adult Stage

the Black Soldier Fly .

...

Black Soldier Fly (BSF) is an equitorial fly that feeds on organic waste and this insect thrives in precisely tailored conditions with controlled temperature and humidity.

By harnessing the natural efficiency of BSF, we get Frass(bio-fertiliser) and Larvae(bio-protein) as outcome.

Advantages of
organic waste management using BSF:

...
  • Odourless process
  • BSF does not carry any disease.
  • Time required (as compared to composting) is lesser by 12-14 days.
  • Space requirement is < 25% of what is needed in composting.
  • Frass generated by BSF cycle can reduce fertiliser cost by 25-30%.

Agricultural Inputs

...
  • Larvae harvested from BSF cycle can be fed to livestock (poultry, fisheries etc)
  • BSF larvae contains:
    1. Protein- 40%
    2. Fats and Lipids- 5-10%
    3. Calcium- 5-8%
  • Dried larvae can be used to feed the livestock which do not directly consume larvae.
